Patients Case Study
Mr. Anil Kumar Bedi - (Both Knee Replacement)
This patient of mine is 58 years old gentleman working as an executive officer in a company and had instability more than pain in knees. He was having severe osteoarthritis of knees.
He was walking like this before the surgery.
He has been advised both knee replacement at a time but he chose one at a time and his left knee was replaced.
3 weeks after surgery he is confident and walking more freely and had no sense of instability with good knee movement.
6 weeks after surgery he is confident and walking more freely and had no sense of instability and soon he is going to get his other knee done.
12 weeks after surgery he himself feels like nothing has been done to his knees and he feels like having a normal knee.
What Mr. Bedi has to say about his experience.
Mr. Chander Singh - (Right Side Knee Replacement)
74 year old with chronic kidney diseases got his knee replaced and is happy with the success of the surgery.
He came to me in severe pain and was supported by his son. Xrays of his knees showing wornout knee joints.I could not make his walking videos as he was on wheelchair and pain was so much that he did not feel like walking.
Looking at his medical condition I opted for right side knee replacement.
Movements 3 weeks after surgery.
Now he is having full motion and is enjoying daily walk without support and has motivated many more for the surgery. You can notice the scar size in video that is about 11.5 cm typical of MIS(Minimally Invasive Approach)where we cut less and recovery is faster.
After Operation
Mr. Ramrakhiyani - (Total Knee Replacement)
This gentleman aged 63 is my personal favorite patient. He is an ex first class cricket player of 1950s and worked as engineer and now is retierd.
After Operation
Ms. Sundari Devi - (Replacement of both hip in single Hospital stay)
44 years old lady came to me riding on a skateboard kind of thing and was managing her house hold activity like this only for last 6 year's. diagnosed her as a case of osteomalacia with old and resorbed fracture of femur neck.
I had a discussion with the husband of patient and planned her for staged uncemented total hip replacement in single hospital stay.
8 weeks after surgery she is up and about, walking on her own after 6 years and having a renewed vision towards life in a more confident manner.
As she did not walk for last 6 years her hip muscles are wasted and week. Her walk is improving with time as her muscles are getting stronger.
